Kids for Global Peace

Overview

KIDS FOR GLOBAL PEACE is a company that produces programs and materials that teach young people about Human Rights, Human Dignity & Respect, and Peaceful Conflict Resolution. The materials are written by Joy Berry who is known in the juvenile publishing/media industry as the “Inventor of Self-Help Books for Kids” because she has written over 250 self-help books for kids that have sold over 85 million copies.

Included in the collection of KIDS FOR GLOBAL PEACE materials are electronic comic books, an interactive website, electronic games, and original music that is featured in combination live and animated public service announcements as well as a classroom curriculum. All of these components are based on materials derived from The Convention on the Rights of the Child, Humanitarian Law, and the Geneva Conventions that were written by Joy on behalf of Amnesty International, the United Nations, and the American Red Cross.

The animated group featured in the KIDS FOR GLOBAL PEACE materials is called the Junkroom Band--one of three casts of characters developed by Joy Berry to teach life skills to kids of all ages in a fun and entertaining way via TV and other publishing/media outlets.

It is the goal of KIDS FOR GLOBAL PEACE to help kids around the world become responsible global citizens who take responsibility for their own lives and encourage and support others to do the same.

Kids who join the KIDS FOR GLOBAL PEACE movement are encouraged to make a commitment to living thoughtful, responsible lives founded on the 13 Human Rights for Kids put forth in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Those rights are as follows:
